1. Engine.

Rammer is a kind of tamping equipment with high-frequency vibration, which works in harsh conditions that requiers the engine has Strong vibration resistance. As the power source of Rammers, general motors will not appropriate for rammer because of their poor vibration resistance ang short service life. Therefore, some foreign manufacturers produce special engine for rammers, But the spare parts cost is very high, and the delivery time is very long. At persent the most popular engine used by rammers are Honda GX100, robin and GX120 EH12, etc. Those engines are applicated widely and the spare parts are supplied convient.

2. Spring

Rammer has a high requirement on spring, and the spring steel should has high fatigue strength, otherwise it will be easy to lost tension and will not operate satisfactorily and even broken.

3. The design principle of dynamic balancing

The movement of rammer is mainly vertical high-frequency linear reciprocating motion, and the machine height is higher, so the dynamic balance of the whole machine is very important, which requires specialized design and testing of dynamic balancing, otherwise the machine will beat instability, difficult to control, greatly increase the labor intensity of operators
